Former Premier Soccer League side Bulawayo City took back the initiative in the race for the sole ticket to the PSL with a comfortable 2-0 win over Mpopoma side Ajax in the ZIFA Southern Region Division One on Friday.

Their victory coupled with a shock defeat for Vision at Luveve stadium to 7th placed Indlovu Iyanyathela saw the former PSL side open a three point lead at the top with three matches before the season ends.
Talen Vision and Indlovu Iyanyathela had a balanced first half but it was the host who hit the cross bar in the 29th minute through Velile Siziba and towards the end of that half joint top goal scorer at the club Grey Kufandada saw his strike in the box punched away by impressive goalkeeper Elton Sibanda and on the rebound had his penalty appeal turned away as he appeared to have been brought down in the box.
Kufandada had two more opportunities in the second half which were well saved by the alert Sibanda. Indlovu then scored in the 62nd minute through substitute Nhlanhla Ncube for his second goal of the season.
Indlovu capitalised on an Oba Tarumbwa weak clearance in the box that fell on Ricardo Sibanda whose shot was punched away by Talen Vision goalkeeper London Zulu onto the path of Servious Sibanda, the left back delivered a cross that was met by Ncube.
They sealed the points six minutes from time through a bizarre own goal as Talen Vision captain Mandlenkosi Gasela’s back pass was let through by centre back Itai Mabhunu and with Zulu off his goal post he failed to control the ball as it rolled into the nets leaving the Talen Vision family in shock.
