Nhivi’s hattrick inspires Caps United come back in Gweru

CAPS UNITED turned around a 3-1 score line to win this Castle Larger Premier Soccer League match at Ascot stadium in Gweru on Saturday.

Straight from their Harare Derby 1-0 win over Dynamos last weekend United were inspired by a Simba Nhivi hat trick (the first of the season) and an own goal (the third of the season).

The newcomers took the lead in the 20th minute through Tatenda Hapazari for his third goal of the season. Simba Nhivi equalised for Makepekepe seven minutes later.

Nichrut however took a 2-1 lead at the break when Gerald Bhero scored a spectacular 35 metre long range effort with two minutes to the half time whistle.

Sherpard Sithole made it 3-1 for the hosts with the second half five minutes old. Nhivi however reduced the arrears seven minutes later as Caps United upped their game.

With 15 minutes to full time Nichrut player Bruce Gurure beat his own goalkeeper from a United corner kick, in what was the third own goal of the season.

Nhivi then picked the first hat trick of the season with nine minutes to full time. The hat trick ensured that he moves to five goals this season.

Mutare City 0-1 FC Platinum

FC PLATINUM returned to winning ways with a 1-0 win over Mutare City at Vengere stadium in Rusape.
Rodwell Chinyengetere scored the only goal of the match with four minutes to full time for his second goal of the season.

There were two goalless draws in Harare as Herentals and Harare City played to 0-0 draw as did Black Rhinos and Bulawayo Chiefs. As the season reached 10 goalless draws.
